A group of eight farmers from Varthur, are striving hard with a passion to cultivate fruits and vegetables organically. Farmers here are using Beejamrutha, Jeevamrutha and vermicompost for nutrient management and concoctions using pongamia, neem, sheep manure and other locally available plants for pest and disease management. Apart from these they rarely use bio-pesticide from greenplanet for pest management.

Sridhar Reddy is growing delicious Thai Guavas employing all the organic practices on his farm of 2 acres from 2016. Krishna Reddy (1.5 acres), Puttamma (2 acres), Janardhan Reddy (3 acres), Karthik Raman (2 acres), Mangal Pandey (2 acres), Chandrappa (2 acres) and Nagaraj Reddy (3.5 acres) are cultivating a wide range of vegetables, green leafy vegetables, bananas, guava which are totally devoid of chemicals and pesticide residues.

Variety of vegetables along with papaya, banana, guava and sapota are grown on the farm. Farm has desi cow, goat, sheep, ducks, hen and fish. Jeevamrutha and fish amino acid are used for crop nutrient management and dashaparni for pest management. On the other hand the crop residues and the fodder crops serve as feed to cattle.
